SW is absolutely not a lock to make over 1 billion. Getting to 1 billion is its best case scenario, with 700-800 million being far more likely.

SW9 could literally be the worse film of all time, Literally get a "0%" on RT, get an "F" cinemascore and be considered the worst film of the centry....and still making more than 700 M
you could dont have that kinda of drop...not after 3 SW films that received great reviews, greats box office and Great ratings...
It takes Several AWFUL films for a franchise to drops like that...
I mean my God 4 out of the 5 DCEU films have been ALL TIME awful and it just now finally had that kind of drop with JL
the last 3 Pirates movies have been getting worse and worse and it still hasnt had the drop your suggesting...
The Last 4 Transformers films have been Universally hated, mocked films, yet it finally just now had a HUGE drop...
There just isnt a History of what your suggesting ....Maybe If TFA was Mixed, Then Rogue One got Bad reviews and Then The Last Jedi got awful reviews, Maybe after 3 Horrible films, we could except to see a Huge drop in Box office and a loss of audience...but the complete opposite of that happened...
instead you got 3 Universally Loved and acclaimed films, theres simply no way they can go from making 1 Billion + to 700 million...
there will be drop, I'm not denying that, The Small minority of Hardcore SW fans are very unhappy and I have no doubt, they Will boycott or Skip the next film...but as I said, theres just not enough to badly effect the Franchise or its box office...were talking maybe between 100 to 150 Million dollars worth of Angry SW fans, The rest, The Majority, At least 80% of the box office comes from The General Public, whos Loved all 3 SW film...
1 Billion + is Guaranteed, every single box office analyst and site Will predict SW8 to make over 1 B....not 1 will predict a 700 to 800 M gross....

It does not mean EVERYONE....It means the Majority...
I completely admit, there was a minority that strongly disliked the film, I'm not claiming, EVERYONE Loved it...I'm claiming The Majority loved and thats not even debatable...
based on Literally anything data you look at, The Majority Consensus for TLJ is about 9 out of every 10 people liked it!
Its clear The Hardcore Star Wars fan base is Split or maybe even Split like 70/ 30 toward hating it...I clearly see and admit, that the portion doesnt not like the film and even might boycott SW9....the difference is I understand box office, and understand this portion of the audience isnt that BIG...at best The Hardcore SW fanbase makes up Maybe 10 to 20% that see Star Wars movies....
The rest, The Majority, is the general public, which is based on every single measure stick there is, has LOVED all 3 of Disneys Star Wars...
I get it, You Hate the Disneys SW films, your angry and want change, but I'm sorry you just cant make up facts...the 3 SW films have been run away successes, With The Majority of the Audiences giving then Universal Acclaim and Love....you are more than with you rights, to give your opinion, boycott the upcoming films, whatever...but you cant change reality and reality is...so Far the 3 Disney Star Wars film have been Universally Loved and Acclaimed(which again means The Majority, between 80 and 90% of the people that saw these movies LOVED them)...

"Universally" does not mean "the majority", it means "everyone" or reasonably close to it. For example, I will concede that TFA was universally acclaimed, because 8 or 9 out of 10 people, critics and audience, praised it.
TLJ had a huge disparity between the professional critics' views and the audience view, borne out by the Rotten Tomatoes data. It was still a huge box office success -- that cannot be denied, and I never did so -- but it was in no way "universally acclaimed".
TLJ suffered a 35% box office drop from the truly universally acclaimed TFA. It's more than reasonable to project that a 35% or greater drop will happen after the mixed bag that was TLJ. A 35% drop puts it at $845 million, which is still an unqualified box office success. I think the drop will be a bit steeper, which is why I project $700-800 million.
P.S. -- for the record, I liked Rogue One very much.
