Ant-Man and the Wasp prospects

I know there's a section for this movie but there's no action there and since Ant-Man is a part of the Avengers it's not completely out of order to start this subject here :)

I wasn't all that interested into Black Panther after its trailer was released (though I will surely watch it when it comes out), but after the Infinity War trailer it's obvious it will be more than an origin story so it surely will receive a push in its Box Office earnings. However we haven't seen anything from Ant-Man in the IW trailer, who knows maybe the duo won't appear in the actual movie, maybe Iron Man asks Caps something like "Hey where's Lang?" and he answers "His on another mission". Maybe Marvel will tease us so the Ant-Man sequel will serve as a bridge between Avengers 3 and 4 of some sorts (not the way Civil War was Avengers 2.5).

I don't see what threat the team from Ant-Man would have to deal with, probably not something "local" like it happened in the first movie? I mean if the movie takes place after the events from the Infinity War it would be weird Ant-Man and Wasp fighting some minor insignificant opponent like Yellowjacket when there's a threat on global/universal scale in progress? I've also heard Ant-Man 2 will be a rom-com in a way, though I'm not sure how that might work having Thanos around and everything.

Maybe the action takes place prior to IW, though that doesn't make much sense given how the following title, Captain Marvel, also takes place before the happenings in IW. I rather wouldn't wait two movies to get some story development of the IW.

The way I see it Ant-Man will have small or none screen time in IW, but his actions might be important for the Avengers 4 and taking down Thanos, this way people would be more interested in watching it. So Ant-Man2 takes place parallel to the IW.

Those are some interesting observations. Ant Man 2 comes out two months after Avengers Infinity War. I also have no idea how they'll deal with this. Maybe Ant-Man does fight in Infinity War without Wasp (they'll pretend she's not ready), and then in Ant-Man 2 we see a proper Wasp introduction.

San Francisco fans reported seeing Paul Rudd and Michael Douglas filming around Pier 39. So they are probably (just my guess) tackling a "local problem" and not end-of-the-world stuff in the sequel.
