Is Carol Danvers Marvel's closest equivalent to Hal Jordan?

Somebody on Quora suggested that Quasar was Marvel's equivalent to Green Lantern:

Her story is so close that the movie had to piece her backstory together in flashbacks.

the backstory is Green Lantern, but everything else is Supergirl. THey even stole the name, Carol (Kara) Danvers. Good grief. Then they took the hero's name from Shazam.
