Will they ever bother to justify her name and if so, how?

Spiderman called her captain Marvel in the trailer, but I assume this scene wont actually be in the Movie.

Captain shouldn't bw too hard a sell, but how are they going to get to Marvel when Mar-vell is already dead and no one elsw knew who she was anyway?
