tell me how this is a good movie

I honestly want to know what made this a good movie? and where do you place it in marvel movies is it your 1 fave i honestly want to know why.

It felt hurried and wasn’t even a “Captain Marvel” film, seeing as the character was dead already.

But it DOES move the story along with the next baddie obviously that lameass in the hood trying hard to be Palpatine.

So it’s obvious she will be the focus of the next trilogy story they’re planning and quite honestly these films should only be in spurts of 3 with new characters coming and going.

Although it’s going to seem like overkill...I hope the writing team is up to the task. But honestly...“Captain Marvel” was pretty weak.

So let’s hope they introduce the West Coast team founders effectively: Hawkeye Mockingbird, Wonder Man(🤮) and Tigra.

The baddie in the hood was Ronan. He was the villain in Guardians of the Galaxy and is already dead.

This movies is that substance which comes out of a horse's patootie.

I thought the story was good, action scenes were good, it was a fun movie, not great by any means its tier 3 for me with Iron Man 3, Thor 2, Incredible Hulk

You're probably right actually , it's been sometime since I watched it , some of the action sequences I recall being excellent

I found IM3 to be a bit boring with dull villains and a twist made no narrative sense. It had its moments but as an MCU movie, I consider it on the lower rung.

I put off seeing IM3 for the longest time because everyone said it was as bad as Thor 2. But I really liked IM3. Sure, I understand the flack but to me who really doesn't care about stuff like that it was a gay old time.

I liked that it did not take the usual hero story that shows a person without powers, gain powers, learn to use those powers and become the hero.

The film is criticized for this. While I agree that, in a vacuum, the criticism is spot on but people forget that she is signed up for several films so they did not have to do everything at once. Unlike the earlier films in the MCU, the Captain Marvel films will have the MCU's success behind them so they can plan her development over her films.

I thought she joked when needed (and way more than she is given credit for) and was serious when needed. She just was not over the top in either area.

I enjoyed it for a number of reasons. It was well-paced, and there was never a moment where I felt it dragged. The story had twists and turns, and deviated from the source in a particularly shocking way that really made for an exciting final act. The visual effects were top-notch, and nothing looked fake or cartoonish, nor were they overdone-- there was a perfect balance between plot and dialogue and superhero action.

Brie Larson did a remarkable job navigating the line between alien and human, and really made me believe she was someone, though born human, only remembered her time amongst the Kree, and as such acted in a stoic, methodical, overly logical, alien manner, and who gradually shed that alien-ness as she began to recall her human past. She was hilarious when she began to joke, and showed great on-screen chemistry with Nick Fury.

It may just be my own political slant at work, but I'd be lying if I didn't admit I'm glad they stayed away from anything feminist or political, and had no snide asides or sight gags pandering to a SJW crowd. It was just a straight-forward, fun, funny, exciting, unpredictable superhero film. Maybe the ultimate test is that if you swapped a male actor for the female lead, you would not have to change a single thing save for swapping some he's for she's and hims for hers.

I like it for a lot of reasons.

Firstly, I like Carol as a character. She's a really enjoyable mix of relatable and mysterious - you know just enough about her that you can enjoy her as is, but want to know more. Second, the humour of the film really gels with me - it's very subtle, so a lot of people completely missed it, but it's right up my alley.
Plus, I love the chemistry between Larson and Jackson, and I don't feel that any character was wasted in this film. Everyone had a purpose and wasn't "just there" for comedic relief or to be the bad guy. Everyone, even minor side characters, were serving several dimensions or giving more notes than just man in suit 1.

I would probably rank it at the same level as X-Men (2000), below Iron Man (2008) and Spider-Man (2002), and definitely above a majority of other Marvel films, which I don't particularly care for. I rank a lot of Marvel films as just okay because they're entertaining to watch, but I just don't feel anything for the characters and they don't age well to me overall.

For example, while watching, I didn't mind Guardians of the Galaxy. But a few days after watching it, more and more things about it began to bug me and I couldn't name one character in it I would've felt sad about if they had died in the film. Not one.

It's entertaining, has some good fight scenes, has a little mystery, has a lot of Samuel L. Jackson. I'd place it ahead of the Marvel clunkers like Iron Man 2 or Thor 2. She's a better character than Spider Kid.

It's among Marvel's weaker movies. The only one I liked less was Ragnarok.
