A white male co-worker

went to see this the other day and loved it..
But incidentally, he had no idea about the controversy surrounding it..Not a clue..
....Not sure what it says about me when I always seem to know these things ..

I haven't seen it myself yet..I'll see it when it's convenient.

I went and saw it opening weekend and I'm also a white male knowing full well about the controversy around Larson and honestly I'm not offended at all. She may have sounded a little harsh with what she said, but I don't think it was necessary intentional and I feel looking deeper into what she's saying instead of taking it at face value makes a huge difference. Even if I was offended though, I know I could set my bias of Larson aside to see the movie anyway because I support the MCU as a whole.

It's utterly bizarre me that because of the nonsense being circulated about this movie and it's apparent agenda, people feel the need to state their colour and gender when they have watched it.

Essentially, they seem to be saying 'Even though Brie Larson clearly hates me, I still quite liked the movie...am I a bad person?'

Seriously...

reply

Well I don't honestly think Larson hates white men and the only reason I mentioned my race and gender was because of the initial post.

reply

I didn't state my own gender and race but was making an observation more about a white male at work being completely unaware of the controversy and going to see the film.
This is what I strive for with entertainers.

As a white female that is as tired as anyone of white guys taking the brunt of a lot of current wokeness... I do not think that Brie hates white guys.
But I think her comments make her seem less bright than it does aware.

The thing is, Chris Evans is one of the biggest SJW's in Hollywood...... but he is awesome in the role of Captain America and I can separate his personal politics from his roles onscreen.

A shame then that some can't do the same with Larson.

A white male co-worker

But what if it's a black gay female that identifies as a white male? Would this person fit the OP's description of "a white male co-worker"?

If anyone says "No" that just proves the utter SHAM of liberal "gender identity politics." Of course, anyone with common sense knows this already.
