Critically and comercial success.

It's like what a loud minority says on the internet DOES. NOT. MATTER.

Are you pouting?

To no sane person’s surprise, Carol Danvers and audiences worldwide came swinging like https://i.kym-cdn.com/photos/images/newsfeed/001/411/748/a17.gif

*commercial* Let's not be sloppy whilst we gloat.

So SJW have learned that they dont matter? Thats fine.

The box office at the states was 150 million. They estimated 180 million when the first trailer appeared. Also 150 million is within the average rate for opening of MCU movies. So no, there isnt any above average commercial success.

And critical success? The critics gave it 79% . Thats at the bottom of most MCU movies ever released. So you have to live with the fact, that Captain Marvel is at best average.

reply

150 millions opening weekend is disappointing now? Bwahaha.

Ant-man and the Wasp opened with 55 millions and that's an established character.

Stop lowering the bar and admit you lost the "culture war".

reply

You're basing an opening weekend on "success"...you look at the OVERALL numbers after it's been out for a few weeks, not opening weekend you moron.

Jesus you Marveltards are idiots.

reply

$455M Worldwide

I'm sure the drop percentage will be so big, it won't even make 600 (what would make it a success for an origin movie about a character that the average movie goer didn't even hear about before this movie)

*giggles*

Disappointing when the first estimates were 180 millions. And its simply at the average of opening weekends of MCU movies. And nice how you bring "Ant Man And The Wasp" into this. We both know when this movie was released :) . Seems like you surrender at the cultural war when you deliver arguments for the other side.

Now its clear why the complete media landscape had to fight the audience. Cause only that way they would have gotten at least an average opening weekend. But was this really worth the sinking of Rotten Tomatoe? Removing a complete preview rating and deleting more then 50.000 votes from the audience rating is simply marketing. So this platform is now toxic for movie goers. Was it really worth that for an average MCU movie, which was mostly destroyed by a dumb actress?

"Average opening weekend"

Do you really want to compare opening weekend of superhero origin movies? Don't make me waste my time googling it. You know you lost again.

"And nice how you bring "Ant Man And The Wasp" into this. We both know when this movie was released :)"

I don't know what's that supposed to mean.

Ratings brigaded by trolls mean NOTHING, as box office and Cinemascore just proved ;)

Thor Ragnarok was a superior movie and it only made $315 million domestically. Black Panther was the cultural "movement" if you will. We got almost no cultural backstory of Carol Danvers. She was a human who discovered she was gaslighted to think she was a Kree. Thats pretty much it. Maybe you've blown it up in your head to be something more because of some dumb comments she made about A Wrinkle In Time but the reality is CM was never meant to be anything more significant than a simple CBM about a space lady. Wonder Woman is the movie that went for the cultural movement with its "No Man's Land." The incels gave it a pass because Gal Gadot stayed in the kitchen publicly albeit metaphorically speaking.

Captain Marvel is the key to the final movie in this first Marvel cycle of movies. It's the link between Infinity War and Endgame.

reply

Yeah because Money = Quality movie. Stop with your "culture war" crap Argentinian.

reply

Who's talking about quality?

By the way, I didn't start shit. YOU people did.

reply

What a bunch of lies, liar!

Early box office projections were $100m, never $180m!
CM's OW of $153m is 7th of 21. That puts it gross near $400m.
It's Imdb rating of 7.0 (climbing) is in the middle of MCU.
