Its making a billion

reply

It’s part of a multi-billion dollar film franchise and leads into “Avengers: Endgame” ... I think its going to make a lot of money, don’t you?

reply

Lots of bad movies make money.

reply

So?

reply

Probably a pre-preemptive strike against those who automatically link box office success with high quality filmmaking.

reply

If I like it I might go 2-3 times.

reply

I will no doubt buy the Blu-Ray or maybe 4K version also.

I wonder if it will be shown in 3D especially for International audiences?

"Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak and to remove all doubt."

Thanks for letting me know by replying. I had my doubt about you.

"Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak and to remove all doubt."

That's hilarious, but you spoke first by saying it.

reply

That's hilarious, but you spoke first by saying it.
No, I heard you pretty clearly the first time. All doubt removed.

No need to double down.

reply

That's what you just did.

Rubber, glue, really?

What will you try next, "Which came first, the Chicken or the Egg?"

"You're going to triple dog dare me?"

"Wash, rinse, repeat"?

When most people don't want to see something they don't need a reinforcement to not see it. They simply refrain from seeing it. The problem is you can't rely on the anti-Brie Larson crowd to not show up after all the nonstop whining they've done. You want to see a low box office number just so you can congratulate yourself. But you realize there's a good chance this movie will be a hit which would mean this stupid campaign you've taken part in was all for nothing.

And whats your goal beyond Captain Marvel? No Brie Larson in Endgame? She's already here to stay. Whatever fight you are fighting has already been lost before you ever began swinging. As pointed out above, this is why stupid people like you should stay quiet. Because otherwise you just reveal how stupid you are. Your OP alone reveals how weak and insignificant you yourself view others like you who need to be told to not see something they claim to not want to see. Its stupidity on top of stupidity.

reply

I agree the antiBrie campaign will most likely accomplish nothing. Although fan do remember Solo backlash from The Last Jedi and think they can make the difference as Disney did put the Star Wars story on hold due to Solo doing not so well.

reply

They may think social justice and feminism had everything to do with Solo but they are dead wrong. Solo's failure was overseas where all that political BS barely existed. All the anti-feminist anti-SJW crap took place over here yet Solo still made the same domestic box office that Venom made. Both made $213 million domestically. Yet worldwide Venom pulled in over $850 million. Solo failed to get those overseas numbers for one reason. The rest of the world didn't care about a Han Solo origin. Maybe TLJ played a role but we won't know until IX comes out. Solo had enough problems on its own. It didn't need TLJ to make it fail.

So now they're all sniffing each others farts claiming they control Disney's box office. Thats fine with me. They can lie to themselves all they want for all I care.

reply

Comic books are stupid.

reply

Sounds like a dodge. This is a movie we're talking about. The comic book is just source material thats being altered to make a fun action movie. These movies don't scream at you to read the comics. Even if you did all you would notice is how different the movies were. So there's obviously something about this movie that you don't like that has nothing to do with comic books.

I will vote Yes to Cosmic Marvel this Friday, and then probably again later at least once more, and I will buy the blu ray but I might try to wait until Black Friday.

reply

Since it's Marvel, I am still seeing it at least once no matter what people are saying about Brie Larson. Unless she's shoving SJW/feminism in my face every chance she gets throughout the movie instead of just being a badass woman then it may affect my viewing.

reply

Not just your wallet but also your eyes and ears. Oh and don't forget to vote again for Endgame since she's gonna be in that too.

reply

Definitely will-- bought 2 tickets on January 7th, the day they went on sale. We'll be seeing the Thursday night show... t-minus 4 days! I noticed that most of the local showing sold out that same day, though by now they've no doubt added new ones. If the movie is as good as it looks in the trailers it has a solid shot at topping $1 billion in box office revenue.

Are you going to see it on opening night?

reply

Yes opening night on the 7th. I do plan to see it more than once just not sure when though.

reply

[deleted]

Nope

reply

Good for you FilmBuff. I'll be going on the 8th. $1 billion sounds like a stretch but I'm looking forward to it no matter what the box office says.
