Annette Benning has officially stated that is the role that she is playing. IMDb has kept her role blank for all of this time but Jude Law still on IMDB has him still listed as playing Walter Lawson (Mar-Vell).

In an interview on Stephen Colbert's show Ms Benning was playfully quite open with her character: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LX8M7ytOuI0&t=340s with Stephen attempting to get even more from her and the movie.

Marvel is continually trotting out more and more clips of Captain Marvel as we get closer to release. Yet the mystery of Goose continues.
