Looks fantastic. What's with the incel neckbeards complaining about sjw feminist woke toters here?

First trailer was super. But you gotta get into the mindset!

reply

They enjoy complaining!

It's their hobby, their preferred form of communication. Complaining makes them feel alive and energized, gives them something to live for.

Or at least that's what I infer from their behavior.

You answered your own question while asking the question.

Damned right

It's the internet.

I don't see any of that. DarthRoger simply suggested it might, because nobody's seen it! This is not Star Wars.

Wonder why the OP says [deleted], but the main page says RalphMacchiato?

SJWs create problems, then spend the rest of their lives looking for it.

I don't know what an "incel neckbeard" is supposed to be, however I've previously stated that I want Captain Marvel to succeed, while acknowledging the MCU needs to watch the identity politics. That's pretty much my argument. As long as they don't swerve into politics (left or right) they will be fine.

Although I'm not high on Brie Larson, I'll give her a chance to show what she can do with the character. In the end, I have faith in Kevin Feige to keep the story focused in the comic book world. Thus far, he seems to know what he's doing.

Why does Marvel with the MCU need to watch out about "Identity Politics"? From print canon Marvel has always swerved into social commentary as part of their story-telling as well as Stan's Soap-Box. Mind you I am not suggesting it was the predominant part of what made them acceptable but the very first incarnation of Captain America on the printed page was very much about politics and those two Jewish guys leaned quite heavily into it as their way of making a statement.

Why is politics (left or right) or identity politics taboo? Eventually every publisher (Comic Books) and Studio (films) will have to go there due to the number of stories that they tell. Maybe if it is not a hammer like Captain America:The Winter Soldier it is okay?

Even DC with Wonder Woman delved into politics when Diana picked a side in WWI in the film but I guess the German's were the convenient Baddies? Audiences will project politics onto anything based on their own biases and perceptions. Studios might as well lean into that and tell the story they want to tell.

" Studios might as well lean into that and tell the story they want to tell."

Um no... I don't agree. Let the story tell the story, without taking a definitive side in advance and let viewers (left or right) decide for themselves. If they can do that so well with movie stories like Captain America: Civil War and Black Panther, then can certainly keep a neutral stance. Let a story play out and let fans decide for themselves. If you announce to the world that Captain Marvel has a distinctive feminist slant before anyone has watched the movie, it's not going to gin-up support from everyone in the fan base. A good story that excites all fans is a good story, it doesn't have to take on a social issue in it's marketing campaign.

That's what I've pointed out.

Apparently the MCU has noticed that fans have been turned off by some of the trailers and interviews concerning Captain Marvel and that's why we got a 3rd trailer that was more fun in presentation and not so much emphasizing that Captain Marvel is a woman. And let's be honest, if that's the only reason to watch the movie (her gender) then it might not be that good of a movie. Marvel was smart to put out that trailer because people are talking and they have a right to an opinion too.

Just saying.

superhero movies are gay... this one looks just as gay as the rest

...just remember to wear pants this time when you go to the theater, Pee Wee Herman...

Should be obvious "Borat" is a Troll, just like the movie character.

Looks like Ralphie was banned, you can't even get his profile+history.
He did this "fake SJW" troll in another group, can't remember which.

Update: He has two accounts:

So that's the problem. Thanks. BTW I wasn't banned but deleted the account because I thought I was done posting here. Kinda hard to beat habit. And for my post title here? It's just a little rant at the people who are complaining about the movie. It's the 21st century, about time that women get equally strong type roles.

I don't know if it makes me an 'incel neckbeard' for saying this, but my problem with the early trailers for this film is that it features Carol Danvers whacking a little old lady in the face without providing any context, for the non-comic-book experts, as to the little old lady's true identity (presumably she's a shape-shifting Skrull - but unless you're a comic-book expert, I'm not sure how you're meant to know that until you've seen the film...)

But go ahead and attack me for being an 'anti-feminist' simply for standing up against ageism and the rights of older women. After all, I know it's cool to hate on older people right now, regardless of gender, because they all voted Trump, right?*

*Never mind that this film is set in the 90s, and so this hypothetical little old lady wouldn't even be part of the same generation that voted Trump. She'd probably be dead by now, but she'd have been part of the generation that survived the Great Depression and won the war against the Nazis; then again, it probably makes sense that she's hated seeing as Carol's mentor, Nick Fury, seems to have some sort of grudge against the Greatest Generation (listen to his speech in Captain America: The Winter Soldier).

Sounds as if you should not have entered that passageway on the 7 1/2th floor. It clouds your perception of others.
