I wonder? Why was she cast so early? Like the Spider-Man actor, they may have a cameo planned.

There was a lot of talk suggesting Captain Marvel was going to make her entrance into the MCU in the third Avengers but so far nothing has been confirmed. Unless they are keeping her appearance a secret, at this point I predict her character will at the very least be teased. I think that would be best.
"Avengers: Infinity War" is going to be so damn character-heavy that they shouldn't even try to fit her in! In fact, they should start the damn thing with a massacre that eliminates at least 15 of the promised 25 main characters, so that there's at least a vague hope that the end result won't be an overcrowded mess.
If I ran Marvel Films, I'd divorce this from that mess and start it in the sixties, seventies, or eighties, so that Captain Marvel wouldn't be limited by a world dominated by other superheroes. And Brie Larson could wear fabulous period fashions.
