Damn this movie was actually pretty funny! (spoilers? maybe)

I know it's marketed as a "thriller", and yes, the topic of abduction and rape isn't funny. But sh!t, the two actresses really brought something to the table. I mean, yes, it was SO over the top, but it was just fun to watch them! The part when they were shopping for all of the "tools" to get their revenge on... That cracked me up!

This movie didn't take itself seriously at all. And how they "played" with each victim - gotta love that! As dark as "I Spit On Your Grave" (both versions) was, this one went in the opposite direction. I was actually laughing at what the girls were doing.

Though never shown, I assume Katie's uncle had a little "chat" with the two girls (who I must say looked freakin' awesome!) about what happened, and to keep it to themselves, lest they get arrested for multiple homicides.

The one thing that actually surprised me - their uncle, the FBI detective, was rescued by these two "helpless little lambs"! I honestly thought he would have saved them, and THEN they would have gone all KHAN on the baddies! (revenge is a dish best served cold).

And to repeat my earlier observation about both actresses - HOT! Even with the blood and dirt! HOT!

I had quite a bit of fun watching this due to the completely whacky way in which they portrayed the normally brutal torture porn rape/revenge theme into something very different than what I'm so used to seeing, something more fun and entertaining, I think people don't get what they were going for but I did, they were both hot too which greatly helps and actually played their roles just right.

I agree 100% with you.

Now, had the girls not been nearly as attractive as they are, and, if they weren't able to deliver the scenes with the necessary "comic timing", I don't think it would have worked.

Fortunately, the casting director had to good sense to anticipate the reaction, and the right girls got the roles.

Everyone claiming that the girls were bad actors... well, they pulled off the thin roles well enough and delivered those lines with surprisingly good timing and conviction. Yeah, the movie is half-hearted and nowhere as dark as other movies in the same genre, but the acting could've been far, far worse. As someone who's watched the drecks of horror, these girls were at least tolerable.

Agreed, I went in with low expectations and had a good time watching it, laughed quite a few times.
