So who was helping him?

He had someone helping him that he was messaging with.. Someone telling him when the fbi were getting close and whoever it was also planted bugs for him in the fbi station and even on the agents themselves. Who was that? Just some random fan if his, or was it that IT guy that was working with those fbi agents?

It was one of the employee's in the office with the agents. You probably misse dit but there's a seen where it shows him texting.
