The music made the show even BETTER

Ok people I keep seeing people critique the music/show however let's remember people... Although a period setting... This show from the get go, marketing it as clearly bloody and violent, also 99% is fictional looking at Lizzie Borden's history, it's clearly satirical and dark humored (just watch when Lizzie confesses to the killings at her mothers grave about all the people she "had" to kill, VERY funny scene and Cristina Ricci was spot on) the modern music mixed in gave this basically slaughter show, a great unique mix and touch. Now if this was a genuine historic period piece where they followed tightly to true story lines, I'd agree on the music not being appropriate, however clearly you complaining people, are missing the essence and meaning of the show, which is fabrication BASED on real life characters. Take a deep breath and if you don't like it or agree, simply don't watch it and don't troll on message boards of people who appreciate the show. Have a great day!

I was about to come on here and say the same thing! I watched this when it aired on TV and was really disappointed it wasn't kept on Demand for longer than the week the show ended. Now that it's on Netflix I can subtitle it and finally collect the music. It wouldn't have gotten the ratings it did if it used classical pieces all throughout. The music made it fun and gripping.

Too bad there's no soundtrack available on iTunes, at least not yet. I would totally buy it.

The old argument of "the music is the wrong time period" has been flung at so many good shows and has been ridiculous 99% of the time. This too is one of those times. The music is mood and commentary, not an historical footnote. You've defended this so well, thank you.
