Maybe this has been answered before but I couldn't find it. Is the TV movie and the series directly related to each other? I know it's a lot of the same people. Kinda confusing! I haven't watched either so I'm not sure if I should start with the show or the movie.

shareLifetime first made the TV movie based on the true story of Lizzie Borden's murder trial. The movie did very well in the ratings, so they decided to continue the story in a miniseries and they were lucky to get Christina Ricci and Clea Duvall to reprise their roles. The events in the series are nearly all fiction, but most of the characters are based on real people.
And now the whole lot of it is on Netflix to watch at your leisure.
