Not that it is a great show, anyway, but the music ruins it down to the bottom. Not only all the MTV-like moments, the roadhouse music,... that disconnects you from the 19th century feeling, but even the most emotional moments, like Lizzy talking to her mother's grave get completely spoiled by the music choice of some TV visionary.....

It was AWFUL. It was like, now you're in the 19th century and, bam!, now you're in the 21st century! It made no sense whatsoever. Pity, too, because I really WANTED to love this show.

I came here to say just that! The music is terrible and such a stupid combination. I don't know what the electric guitar is supposed to do, it doesn't go with the visuals at all. Especially the singing, if this was some weird music video student project, it would make much mores sense. As it is it sounds awful and jarring, dragging you out of the time period and making it seem like a 90's sitcom.
shareI hate that they are using modern day actresses and filming it on modern day cameras. Not to mention being on TV...? Seriously...? That wasn't invented until well after. It just pulled me out of the mid of the time
