The man dumped in the swamp.

So the writers went out of their way to tell us that the patient being dumped in the swamp was still alive at the time. I doubt they would do this just to reveal he died in the swamp later that night. To me it appeared like heavy-handed foreshadowing that he is still alive and a candidate to be the Green Meanie, coming back to get his revenge on the hospital that left him for dead.

Everyone is suspecting Taylor, Kirstie and Stamos' characters on IMDB but I haven't seen anyone bring up this guy. I think there's a super strong possibility of him being involved in/behind the killer conspiracy this season unless it's a massive red herring. Only thing is that in the current timeline he would be a middle-aged black man and we have none of those on the show, so he can't be anyone we know.

Although, I was high when I watched this.

Its possible, but I don't know. I mean the reason they dumped him in was cause he was going to die anyway and the doctor didn't want it come out it was down to their poor treatment of him.

Likewise he was seriously ill, had trouble breathing, and was sedated when they dumped him in the...water? I'm honestly not sure if that's water, or sewage (or the residue of the hospital's medical waste). Whatever it is, it can't be safe to go in it.

Now its possible the doctor was just a quack, and the guy wasn't anywhere near as sick as he thought. But for him to survive he would have to either wake up in time, swim to the shore with fluid in his lungs and a sedative in his bloodstream, and them get far away enough from the hospital, to get to a better hospital and receive proper treatment.

Or I suppose someone could have seen what they did and fished him out before its late.

Plus if it is swamp man why wait so long for revenge?

reply

Yeah that's true.

I mean its been thirty-one years.

Nah. The Green Meanie is the son of the swamp guy, born after his father died in the swamp. And the writers are leading us to think it's the very cold Dr. Cascade, returned to the hospital that killed his father. When you consider the choice of 'Be My Baby' as the song during his sudden appearance, it just screams (pun intended) that the Meanie is the child born to the pregnant wife of swamp guy.

But who is it really? We'll have to keep watching to find out.
BTW, terrific soundtrack so far, loved each piece in the episode.

Could the striper be the guy 30 years later?

I seriously doubt the writers even had a killer set in stone when they wrote the pilot. Their handling of last year and it's various complications hint that coherency and an established plan isn't always on the agenda.

reply

Except last year they did have a killer in mind but had a couple of alternates in case they needs to change directions. They ended going with their first choice.

They ended going with their first choice.

This is the first time I've have read this. Do you have proof? I think they left their options open which I think they'll do again this season, which sucks coz it makes it impossible to follow clues and guess the killer if they just leave clues for several characters and then choose randomly. It kills the mystery aspect of the show.

reply

I think they would have cast a known actor if he was the killer

reply

Well they still can because they would have to recast an older actor.
