Not Great

In a time when there is almost nothing but CGI cartoons to see in theatres, I try to go out of my way to see anything off the beaten path. I don't think the film quite hits the mark. The dark humor is hit and miss and I think the producers overestimated the value of the dog as a unifying theme. Some of the individual performances are very good, others not so much. I gave it a 6.

On a side note. The small independent theatres used to be a sanctuary from the idiotic behavior of moviegoers in general but in the last few years I've noticed that everyone wants to make "witty" comments during the film. And I'm not talking about young people I'm talking about mature older people. Am I the only one who has noticed a trend with older people who should know better blathering on during the movie?
