Oh my god

.....This was awful.

OMG, this C-grade movie ROCKS! It is total boy-movie trash, with a level of credibility below that of a politician’s or a pimp’s, to make an artificial distinction. If ART is FUN, this is art—for the testosterone set, of which I am a happy and satisfied member (huge pun intended). When Black Kaiser closes in on his antagonist, lard-bucket Blute, and chubs calls what remains of his army to bring him Kaiser’s lady friend, and the voice on the other end of the line says, “No fuckin’ way, you’re own your own!”, I howled a satisfied Full Moon gut-laugh reserved for only the most pulp of black-and-white comic book climaxes. To put my comments in context, I am a man who also enjoyed the films Security and No One Lives. My taste is not universal. If you share it, watch this.

I'm a big fan of B List action Movies too.

all time favorite B List action movie or straight to DVD action movie is ....

Universal Soldier Regeneration....AMAZING!

close second is Undisputed III

No One Lives is a bit better but Security is also good.

How is it in comparison to Smoking Aces or Shoot 'Em Up?

Theres another good straight to DVD action movie called "The Tournament"....about A Tournament of assassins that takes place every 7 years in some town....very fun...Its got some Good name actors in it...Ving Rhames, Scott Adkins

OK! I haven't seen these but will give them a try. Thanks for the tip.

To me, it’s not nearly as much fun as Shoot ‘Em Up, with which I fell instantly in love and put in my library. For one thing, Polar lacks an antagonist like Paul Giamatti, and lacks the wit of SEU’s script. Polar (and I don’t understand its title) DOES have Catherine Wynnick, and I’d watch anything, even a beer commercial, where she appears! I’ve only seen Smoking Aces once. I like Mads Mickelson a lot, and (obviously) Wynnick, but Aces has a better cast, script and production values. Having said that, I intend to watch Polar again, sometime. It’s cinematic Cuisine Provençal, which means it may be crude, but it’s tasty.

The carrot kill was hilarious in Shoot 'Em Up.

This was just a mess. And I like Åkerlund and Mikkelsen.

When the last group of guards just straight up got the fuck out of the mansion while telling Kaiser where the boss is I was in stitches.

reply

It's pretty bad. I bet the director was thinking that he's making the coolest movie ever.

reply

The movie is meant to be watched as a parody of itself.

reply

He was. It was excellent!

reply

Awfully Awesome...

A thoroughly enjoyable two hours, not to be taken too seriously.

reply

I enjoyed it.

I love this fuckin’ movie.

I also love The Babysitter and Security, among others. I am in awe of filmmakers who can make a career and big bucks out of the direct-to-video pulp marketplace.

reply

I liked The Babysitter. Haven't seen Security.

reply

I think you’d like it. Do a search for it. Tell your disbelief to take a holiday.

reply

I'll look for it. Thanks! 😊
