It was a stem cell transplant that completely cured the horse's tendon. After that they entered him in the Welsh Grand National, a huge steeplechase race in Wales, and he won. At that point he made headlines "rags to riches." They then entered him in the Grand National at Aintree, but shortly after he started he just stopped. They found out he bled into his lungs when he raced and the horse felt like he was drowning. Once the horse recovered he wanted to race again. But they retired him and he's living happily in a pasture now for the rest of his days. Each of the people in the syndicate got a payoff of slightly more than £1,400, because they spent his winnings on his stem cell surgery and recovery.
