Napoleon -El Monesterio del Tiempo

I think this has to rank as the best episode ever. So funny with standouts being Angustias and Pacino. The Mass scene almost killed me with laughter. Hope RTVE will release DVDs with English subtitles soon.

And it is based on a real incident, just like most of the episodes.

I totally agree! It is the best episode to date. I like the interaction between the known characters and the new recruit, Pacino. The show runners called actor Hugo Silva and told him: "we wrote this street-wise eighties cop thinking specially of you" The guy must be good to be playing tailored roles. Being an american spanish speaking person, I sometimes miss good stuff and punchlines. There is quite use of slang, colloquial or old age expressions. Spaniards can speak very fast so I´m rewacthing the series with spanish subtitles to lay back and enjoy the show... But, just for a personal challenge, I started to work on american english subtitles for the Monastery episode. I hope to finish soon. This show is great, pure entertainment. Worthy of the attention of "Doctor Who" fans and people around the world. Why? because it´s timey-wimey, and Spanish television is doing it right.

Silva's breakout role in "Los Hombres de Paco" was very much the same, other than it being set in the modern day rather than the 80s.

I do think RTVE or whoever owns EMdT is missing a great opportunity to promote it in English speaking countries. It's a bit like DW without the aliens but with the humor and tongue in cheek air about it. I know people who would love to watch it but it doesn't have subtitles.

If you want some help with the subtitles just let me know, I have some experience in the field, just the other way around, from English o Spanish.
