Who is the worst character?

For me, it's Adam. From his nonchalant attitude about EVERYTHING to his deer in the highlights look to the fact that it looks like he's wearing a wig or has a perm. AWFUL. I'm so annoyed every time he is on camera which is 3/4s of the entire show!! What garbage

reply

Nah, it's Wiley. With her permanent air of petulance. Her looking down on everyone else. Not to mention her lack of interest in her baby.

reply

Wiley is pretty bad, but Adam just looks and sounds SO BORED all the time. There is never any emotion in his face or voice.

reply

To be fair, every single actor in the show looks bored. You'd think someone at least would show some emotion over the fact that people are horribly dying all around them, but I guess these kids are just too cool for school.

reply

The super tall black "kid" (I don't remember his name) who works on a farm shows some emotion from time to time. I like him most.

reply

His name is Gord. He's certainly the most sympathetic character. And he does occasionally show a flicker of emotion, I agree.

So, in your ranting you listed "white" twice to describe the antagonistic characters. So basically, the black character must be some kind of liberal subliminal message? Wow, what a sad world you live in. A black person could never be a role model. No! It must be some kind of subterfuge to forgive us all of our white guilt!!

Give me a break. Stop viewing the world though a racial prism and enjoy the show....or don't. Maybe just do us all a favor and shut up?

reply

To some mentally disturbed individuals there is no greater sin than being white so I listed it twice for good measure.

I'm fine with black role models. In fact Bill Cosby was one of my heros until this whole rape fiasco came up. What bugs the hell out of me is that black people in television are either piece of trash gang bangers or perfect people with no flaws whatsoever. There is very little in-between. Translation: there are very few real portrayals of black people on TV.

And the producers of the most television clearly view create their work through a racial prism, so I'll shut up if you condemn them equally as well. That'd be fair.

reply

Of course he's the most sympathetic - he's black! It's racist to make a black character with flaws so in modern television all black characters are shining beacons of intellect, ethics, and compassion who are just trying to get ahead while being oppressed by evil, white, rich straight white men (but not women because they are a minority even though they are 51% of the population......?..).
Being black has nothing to do with it. He's just a better actor (though there isn't any competition). I'd like him even if he was a villain.

I suppose the super hot-head brother does a decent job sometimes, although I think he over-does it.

Anyway, I quit near the start of the third episode. I just couldn't take that bored voice anymore.

PS: You should watch any crime show. There are criminals of all races.

reply

Late to the party, but anyone who thinks Gord is flawless really needs to watch this show carefully. He was so determined to save everyone *else* in the town, that he left his little sister by herself in the farm and she had to defend herself from a tiger. He had a thing for a married woman. In season 2, his "altruistic to the point of self-destructive" tendencies finally drove Franny away. Gord is not perfect. He just has flaws in the other direction.

reply

What about Wiley's incredibly long, heavily mascaraed false eyelashes? Somehow, that bit of decoration makes her seem even more unlikeable.

reply

Adam constantly mumbles throught his scenes, I can barely understand him. The outsider with teen angst schtick has been done, and much better. He is the most annoying character by far!

reply

Honestly, after watching 3 episodes, I really wish that virus killed everyone under the age of 22.

reply

Best. Comment. Ever.

Nobody cares what we think about this.

reply

Lol that sums it up nicely.

reply

I wish I could like and retweet this. Is this not Twitter?

reply

Yeah him and Wiley were having a conversation and I couldn't tell what either was trying to say, it just sounded like mumbling because the background music was so loud.

reply

Chuck, I most definitely pick CHUCK. It's that same, tired, played out "hard headed, quick to jump to conclusions, *beep* leader but insist on calling the shots, popular/rich a**hole with daddy issues that never listens to reason but isn't totally void of virtue" trope that we've seen in so many shows and movies. He's annoying, you just want to punch him in the face, but at some point the writers will introduce some contrived scenario to humanize him, they've already tried to do it with the mentally disabled sister. The character has no nuance(I don't blame the actor, he's actually pretty good), the whole persona is so on the nose. Actually, None of the characters have nuance, I just find the character of CHUCK the most one dimensional.

reply

I don't know who I think is the worst, but Adam's voice drives me nuts. I also wish he'd grow a personality. Dear god.

reply

His lack of personality is really irritating. Even though Wiley is the stereotypical "woe is me" teen angst, at least she has somewhat of a personality, despite the fact that it's unlikable.

reply

Wiley.

You don't have to change who you are, everyone else does.

reply

Adam, Wiley and Ronnie make the show somewhat interesting. Chuck, Gord and Frances decently add to it. The worst character would have to be Tracy. I'm not getting anything out of that character, limited scenes or not.

reply

Say what you will and call me what you want, but I can't stand the downie girl.

reply

I totally agree

reply

I hate Ronnie and Wiley so much. Everyone helps out Wiley so much and she is just so ungrateful, you save her life twice and she complains about her money. How would you spend the damn money if you died from a landmine? Plus she was a bitch to her sister who was taking care of her daughter. You claim to not ask for anything but you leave your newborn with your sister, that is asking for something. Ronnie is just a bad boy punk who doesn't care about anyone but himself. He deserved to be shot after taking that poor girl hostage.

The others may have their faults but these two do nothing but look out for themselves and take advantage of other people. They have demonstrated no noble traits or sympathy for others.

reply

Taking that poor girl hostage? That poor girl lied about him burning down the grocery that SHE started causing a manhunt. GTFOH with your stupid comment

reply

She has down syndrome she probably ha an IQ of 65. Yes she did lie about seeing an old truck around the store and about starting the fire. But she doesn't deserve to have a knife to her throat.
