If you want a version of this that doesn't suck

Check out Under the Dome. It's got a very similar premise (a whole town is trapped inside an invisible barrier), but with waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better acting. I watched it after some people here suggested it, and I'd like to pass on the advice.

It's available free if you have Amazon Prime. Season 3 premieres on June 25.

Edit: I take it all back. I really liked season 1, and season 2 got weird but still okay. I watched 2 episodes of season 3 and I regret ever watching this show at all.

I agree the shows are really similar, and UTD is probably better, but it's not that much better man. Both shows suffer from the same issues. Characters who are not likeable, questionable acting (though that don't bother me much), a premise that drags on and on and odd side stories. The fact that UTD is entering season three is a problem, it was a great idea for a story but it should be a mini-series, rather then being dragged out out for years like UTD and this might be.

UTD is based on a (very long) Steven King book. There is only so far it can go. I don't expect a fourth season. I did like season 1 better though.

I thought the acting was pretty good in UTD. Not great, but pretty good. I also like the characters (that I'm supposed to like).

Anyway, I couldn't bear a third episode of Between. I watched five minutes of it and the bored tone everyone had was just too much.

You can think that, but you're wrong. The acting in UTD is barely competent, and the couple of decent actors are phoning that *beep* in long distance.

Actually, Under the Dome is based on a book called "The Wall" (German: Die Wand) by Austrian writer Marlen Haushofer in 1963. So... way before Stephen King.

Under the Dome has one of the worst acting, writing and directing in any TV show I've seen. There are probably only 2 good actors, and the rest are terrible.

This how isn't great but Under the Dome isn't much better at all, if anything I enjoyed it less.

Most people disagree with you. It's very highly rated by both critics and regular users.

Maybe it's just the type of show that you don't like. If that's the case, it's totally fine.

It's probably going to dip under 7 on IMDB which is very average for a TV show. Also take into account the drop in viewing numbers it's clearly not very highly rated by regular users.

The show started of well (by that I mean first 3/4 episodes), then went to crap. Not surprised to see S2 below 60 on RT.

Highly rated by critics and audiences apparently.

I watch and enjoy Under The Dome, if this show is a lesser version of that then it must be pretty bad. I was looking forward to this new one but it sounds like a dud. PS To the OP, read the book if you like UTD series. It is much better and it won't spoil the tv show because they have changed around the storyline.

Under the Dome is probably one of the worst TV Shows of all time. Between is up there as well.

Agreed UTD is better but this one looks interesting though. I'm looking to see how season 1 of this show plays out.
