Guess the Tomatometer/IMDB rating

I know it's way early, but considering how toy/game-based films do, and given MLP's fanbase and appeal, I think this will go one or two ways. So I have three different guesses.

If it's excellent like The Lego Movie:

RT:
87%-Critics
95%-Audiences

IMDB:
8/10

If it's a mixed bag like The Angry Birds Movie:

RT:
45%-Critics
67%-Audiences

IMDB:
6.5

If it's just an uninspired piece of trash:

RT:
15%-Critics
30%-Audiences

IMDB:
4.2

It's way too early to tell how this will do (especially since we don't have a trailer yet), but we'll find out soon enough. What does everyone else think?

Hopefully it's good enough to the point to where it will give Disney a run for it's money.

I hope this movie puts those crooks who run Disney in their place. I mean the way Disney mils Frozen is tiring.

Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, and Metallica are Bronies

reply

Me too, and I'm a Disney fanatic!! (Who does not consider Frozen overrated at all.) FiM is just that good.

Very low, I can guarantee that

You said it yourself pal, we're the guardians of the galaxy!

Normally I might call you a troll and whatnot, since you simply seem to hate the movie because it exists... however... having seen the new character designs and read the likely synopsis... ehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh... you may be coincidentally right.

They're throwing in far too much too quickly without bothering to first build their cinematic world and mythos. They've only got 90 minutes at most to build the world, introduce ALL the important characters from the show, introduce all the NEW characters, AND tell this entire story to completion. Unless the audience already knows everything about the central characters, the land of Equestria and their capabilities, they'll be completely lost and the pace will have to be absolutely manic to cover all the bases. But if the audience DOES know everything already about the series, then they're going to be asking questions of where characters like Discord are, why don't the dragons or griffons show up, what about the Crystal Heart's power, and why they don't use the power they wielded against Discord and Tirek to stop this new villain.. unless his powers are both even MORE over-powered than a chimeric animal version of Q from Star trek: TNG and more plot-convenient than a magical power vacuum cleaner (Tirek).

It also appears to ignore almost every development in the show up to Season 6 and seems to be its own animal entirely.

It feels more in line with one of the side-alt-universe DBZ, Naruto or Bleach movies which didn't fit into the central series canon at all (and which were usually pretty bad, save for one or two exceptions).
