So Marvel just started pumping out movies on their own without any help?
The Blade, Spider-Man, and X-Men film franchises never happened?

shareThey mention that properties like Spider-Man were licensed to other studios. This documentary is about Marvel Comics and Marvel Studios, so of course they don't go into details of the other franchises.
shareLet's see...Disney owns both Marvel AND ABC right? No surprise there that they'd try and downplay (or "sweep under the carpet" if you like) other successful franchises of characters like Spidey, and the X-Men, whose rights are owned by other studios.
Although it was nice to see an overview of Marvel's past, and interviews with many of it's major contributors over the years, I consider this special to be far from a comprehensive biography of the company.
CBS Television: the network of choice for culturally retarded Americans.
I understand the corporate side of it all, but it's still a pretty big lie to say that Marvel didn't have help with their cinematic universe. They were slumming it movie-wise before Blade, X-Men, and Spider-Man came along.
