Defense team opening statement.

"A shotgun, or a pipe, no matter what it is, it's a deadly weapon". How do you know what it was if you couldn't even determined if it's a pipe or a shotgun barrel? That's a stupid, way to plant an imaginary item on the victim. You're in your car already, whether it's a pipe or not, he was already driving off. He didn't have to stop the car and open fire.

"Do I need a lawyer, it sound like I'm in deep *beep* No *beep* *beep* you opened fire like a coward after driving off already. The fact that he drove off without remorse shows that he didn't care about what just happened. Any man or woman in their right mind would call the police right after the incident. He was treated fairly well when he was apprehended. A minority would of been beaten up like always.

State champ in martial arts, trained with firearms, I eFF'n dare you!

He really thought the cops were going to shake his hands and let him go and call him for his community service award later.
He was drunk, driving drunk, DUI on his record already so he flees the scene of the crime claiming he is scared the thugs will follow him with their pipes and water guns or whatever he claims. He assumes they have a gun or a record so no harm no foul. The teens weren't thugs, they have dads and they had no gun so he invents the gun, thinking if he says thug, rap and sagging pants, people will believe him. Problem for him, his story made no sense, the cops weren't buying it from the start and his own GF buried him with her testimony.
