Excellent story but should deepen their message

This is a great film although 10 or 20 minutes diving into the movie gives me a premature feeling this is sponsored by NRA or Donald Trump, after that the movie took a turn and an exciting story about a vigilante group initiated and developed in Mexico began to unfold, leaving me with many thoughts at the end but mainly I'm so glad that I didn't born in that region.

Over all the movie try to paint this picture of parallel vigilante groups trying to fight cartels on both sides of the border which isn't there, and by doing so shadow the great message of the movie.

The vigilante group over the mexican side has a justice cause even the result is very sad, the vigilante group over the US side has a, well legitimate cause-to stop illegals taking jobs, the movie try to paint a picture that they are really fighting the cartel. Even if they started as a group to do so but what they effectively did has little impact on the cartel. The border region is vast, it takes much more people to have real impact, and we all know the border region is dangerous place, it's unlikely the cartel will store key assets near that region, key members will most likely to cross the border in other ways and when they do they stay in their mansion somewhere eles. What they catches are illegals.

What vigilante group has done in mexico is more effective, they live where the cartels are, they can act much more quickly to any action, they basically can be ready 24*7 and they got their ears on the ground.

I personally think this movie should drop the american part and dig deeper on the cartels, which is a inevitable result of poverty and corruption not the result of lacking police force or armory or EVEN the WILL to fight as this movie has tragically shown.
