Here's how the plot could have been made better (spoilers)....

OK, I watched this movie on the Lifetime Movie Network, and I just thought of something: why would Alex put the heroine through so much torment before killing her, while Breanne got a somewhat quicker demise.

Part of the plot was that Jennifer's father died (this is the reason why her mother was drinking) years earlier. Did they ever mention how he died?

So here's my plot:

Jennifer's father died before the movie in a head-on collision with another car (and it would be implied that the occupants of the other car also died). The movie happens as is (and Jennifer, in addition to finding the video of Alex's torment, also finds newspaper articles referring to her father's accident), until Alex reveals her true motive as she's about to kill Jennifer: Alex's family also died in the crash. That's the real reason she picked Jennifer to pledge: so she could kill Breanne, frame (and then kill) Jennifer, and get revenge on the family of the other driver in the crash (even if it was just an accident). For bonus points, have her co-conspirators looking just as stunned as Stu in Scream at that revelation.

Does that make more sense than the movie's motives? It would give Alex a motive to frame Jennifer and a reason why she hates Jennifer so much...
