I thought Voldemort invented Avada Kedavra?

Is Rowling retconning here?

reply

According to http://harrypotter.wikia.com/wiki/Killing_Curse, it was invented in the Middle Ages.

reply

No he didn't invent it, where in the world did you get that idea from?

reply

I read it somewhere.

What was the name of the slicing curse that Snape invented when he was high school age?

That may be what you're thinking of.

reply

Sectumsempra. Yes, it may have been that, and then I deduced that other wizards have invented other spells, too.

Then again, it would be obvious that a spell to simply kill would be one of the oldest in the WW.

reply

Lol and you trusted that? I suggest what you need to read is the books. Wherever you read that, they obviously don't know Harry Potter that well or at all. Have you even read any of the books or seen any of the movies?

reply

Of course I have.

reply

As I recall, he was notable for being willing to use a forbidden curse and commit murder.
