I like this show. Really do. But there's no way that two black-haired children cam e from these two gingers. They also don't resemble them any way in terms of face/body features.

When you have up-voting and down-voting you end up seeing only what the majority wants you to see. Its just another form of censorship and manipulation. In reality:
1. It happens. Having parents with a certain hair colour doesn't 100% mean that the offspring will share that same colour. You'd have to look into grandparents as well, if one of them was dark haired the gene could have skipped a generation. There definitely is a way for it to happen. Rare but it does happen.
2. Who says that they are both natural gingers? Maybe one of them is naturally dark and has dyed hair.
Yeah, I wish more effort could be put into finding kids/parents that share some kind of resemblance to each other. Some do it and it's really nice to see but it can't always work out that way.
They have to hire the person they feel is right for the role, irrespective of looks. If they didn't they might end up with someone who looks right but can't act, or they may not find anyone suitable at all.
Nope. The gene for red hair is recessive. So it is possible for two dark haired parents to have a red haired child, but two red haired parents cannot have a dark haired child.

Red is a case of it's either on or off (it's a couple different set of genes from blonde/black) it's just it only shows itself when combined with blonde as dark hair masks it.
Red can have blonde or ginger and in very limited cases have dark hair depending on what genes they have available in the blonde/brown set (ie if each parent has a few and those are different there's a slight chance the child will pick those up and have far darker hair than either parent....it's pushing the odds but could happen)
My mother and father both have curly black hair and blue eyes, I have stick straight very light reddish brown hair and green eyes. I could be adopted for how much I look like my family, genetics are unique.

Oh I got to see a lot, so much is shot around Vancouver and on the streets. Hatley Castle (Queen Mansion), Lian Yu (the beach and such, not the onset location), the street where Laurel's law firm is, the Industrial/Verdant shoots, the Art Gallery which had a lot of scenes filmed at it, so many places! I need to go visit again, so I can nerd out on The Flash and iZombie locations too :P

They came over here originally for work, however as the kids grew up and got married...haha. So now they're pretty much all here!

It is possible and it works in reverse. I once worked with a girl who had a son with red hair, although neither she nor her husband did. But her mom had red hair. I believe it can skip a generation.

shareI can't talk for myself as I can see where I get my genetic traits from but my cousins (except for one) has blue eyes and blonde hair but none of their parents have those traits.
The sole cousin of mine who isn't like that, has medium-brown hair and almost black-brown eyes; her mum (my auntie) has almost black hair and hazel eyes, while her dad has dark brown hair and green eyes.

Judging by all the conflicting posts on this board, it is obvious that genetic inheritance works differently in different parts of the world. It's the only explanation.
shareIt looks to me like the mother's hair is dyed dark red. Her original color could be black or dark brown.
