I don't get the bad reviews..

I think that show is tense, clevery written and well-acted. Why do people hate it?

reply

They hate it because J-Lo is starring. She gets a lot of hate for absolutely no reason.

reply

Man, you are sure right about that!
I went to her board to post a compliment about her, and the hatred poured down on me...it was rather disturbing.

I really don't get it. All the trolls make me sad for the world...if you hate someone so much, why frequent their board? Guess it's an addiction. :(

Not sure about that. I've watched movies with j-lo in them and found them ok. This show is a load of crap. lol

reply

let see it like that it got more positive reactions than bad and yeah Jennifer Lopez is hated by a lot of loud people for some reasons I don't know.

reply

People are like that. I bet none of them can sing or dance like her. I bet none of them have got the ambition and intelligence to fulfill her desires.
Also, on American Idol, she was not stupid like Simon Cowell.
I thought both her and Ray Liotta were excellent at the end of the penultimate episode.
Also she uses her looks to her best without looking like a silly dressed-up wannabee. Classy.
Final episode in the UK airs next week.

Even though JLo is billed as the star of the show, my dream would be to have her die at the conclusion of season 1 and have Ray Liotta take the lead.

His character being an anti-hero brings back memories of The Shield.

If JLo is to be the star of the show for it's entirety then it seems Liotta may be the one who dies or goes to prison by the end of season 1 or season 2.

Overall it's a cool show. I have no complaints :)

She's not only one of the stars of the show, but also an executive producer. I don't think she'll be killed off anytime soon.

reply

Did you see Ryan Seacrest was also producing? I don't know why that surprised me, but it did!

reply

Why worry? Reviews mean nothing to me, and this has already been renewed for S2.

reply

I love this show and think J-Lo and the whole cast is solid. Tonight's episode...WOW!

reply

Jlo is executive producer. She's not going anywhere. Did you see this week's episode - the ending? Wow!!! What's that about?

reply

I think it's got good acting. I had wondered at the beginning, given the premise, where the story could go and how long could it be carried out. I thought it might drag out with a lot of filler side stories. But I haven't found that to be the case. I find it fairly compelling. Glad it has S2.

reply

One of my brothers told me that this is very good & thinks I'd like it.
I'm have not been feeling good for weeks. I've watched the episodes of the few series I watch, Grey's Anatomy, Shameless, Chicago Med & I think that's it for series on currently. There are probably a few more-Togetherness on HBO & that's the last one I can think of.

I looked at on demand & all episodes are available free. Is it worth watching?

reply

I really don't get the hate for J-LO. She's one of the most talented people on the planet right now.

I don't even really care for her music, but she's got talent there and though she's never going to challenge Meryll Streep for an Oscar, if you look at her filmography, she's done a fine job.

Creasy: Okay, my friend. It's off to the next life for you. I guarantee you, you won't be lonely..

reply

Well, considering how boring US pop music is nowadays (clone of clone of clone, and Jennifer Lopez basically started that) I don't care much for her singing either, and in my oppinion she simply can't act. So far she's ruined almost every movie she has ever been in (and her reputation at that time killed Jersey Girl, which was a shame). Also Shades of Blue is just another generic cop drama, and it was one of the main reasons that Forever got axed.

reply

I don't understand the hate for this show, either. Nor do I give a f - - k. Do you honestly care what a bunch of petty haters think? Do you give a rat's ass what a "television critic" thinks? These are ordinary people who get paid to have an opinion. In other words, average Joes who have no better taste or qualifications than any other person strolling down the street. Their "opinions" mean jack.

Shades is a fun, soapy crime drama that actually knows what its main objective is: to ENTERTAIN. Lopez and Liotta are fantastic, the story has enough twists, turns, and suspense to keep me engaged, and the finale was a perfect lead-in to Season Two. Those of us who enjoy the show have absolutely NOTHING to apologize for. Nothing to defend. If someone doesn't like it, that's their prerogative.

reply

Great post Nightflyre9! I couldn't have said it better. I agree on all of your points. Lopez does a great job on the show and I think she is a fine actor. I just don't get the hate she gets. She can act, sing, dance, and is one of the hottest women in the business still in her 40's. Great entertaining show.

reply

J.Lo has this image of being a diva. People who come from the pop music world don't get respect when they get into acting.
I think she's ok. Even better than ok at emotional scenes, surprisingly.

If I don't reply, you're probably on my ignore list for something I forgot already
