Ummm...I'd bet any amount of money he doesn't. That’s the problem I have with this show. These people live off the grid IMO to please themselves and because they don’t function well socially. Having his daughter a coupla times a month is not doing her justice. She has to eat everyday, be clothed and have shelter and healthcare. I like this show because it’s interesting to see how they do what they do, but when you have responsibilities such as a child, you have to do what needs to be done ON THE GRID and put your desire for that type of life on hold.
There’s an episode where Amelia suggests there may be a day when a third person is living in their homestead. If she has a baby, how are they going to pay for the birth, schooling, clothing, or saving for its future? If the Tony, Amelia, or the child gets ill or hurt, who’ll pay the medical bills? My guess is that’s where our on-the-grid tax dollars will go. Then I’d call them hypocrites.
