27 Sept in UK

I've yet to learn if this will be shown in the US. Perhaps we'll hear about it in the press for the UK broadcast. I'm looking forward to finding out what UK viewers think of the new adaptation.

I just hope anyone travelling to Slad to discover the village portrayed in the film won't be too disappointed. Slad is just a couple of cottages mainly in Slad Valley. I was born and brought up in one of those cottages. The Woolpack in the film is a huge establishment, in real life it is tiny, my grandfather used to be the landlord there and would serve Laurie Lee. Lee had a police whistle hanging by his back door and would blow it on his way to the Woolpack. Down to the bottom of his garden, through the hedge and up the little hill and Laurie Lee and pint would arrive at the bar at the same time.
