Better Graphics but the game play is average

I have played the Sims 3 and I'm waiting to play the sims 2,I know each time EA takes some parts out of the Sims. But for Sims 4 it feels like they traded most of their game play for better graphics! At first playing Sims 4 I enjoyed myself but when I started playing Sims 3 I soon grew bored of Sims 4 because it didn't have the features sims 3 had. So what do you think is Sims 3 better then sims 4? Are graphics more important then game play !
