Mainwaring, Godfrey and Walker were very well cast but what on Earth happened with Pike?
He's supposed to be a mummy's boy not some sort of Lothario!

This film is set in 1944, the series was set in 1940 to 1942, in series 4 Pike turned 18 but was turned down for national service on account of his rare blood group (in this film they say flat feet, he may be embarrassed about the real reason) so by the time of this film he is twenty odd years old and is finally growing up a bit.

That wasn't really my point. His character was totally different in the film. It wasn't really an age thing in my view.
I love that atheism quote though!
Frank was the one character that I didn't like the change in. I preferred the sulky namby-pamby character of the TV series.
shareBlake Harrison proved himself to be a one-dimensional actor and simply played Pike as he did Neil in The Inbetweeners!
