Let's not call this a comedy .......
This was a realistic drama, that included comical situations, that were always subordinated to the flow of events. I happened to enjoy it immensely because there wasn't a character, or a scene that didn't ring absolutely true.
Each person decided to live life, including the misery of Will no longer being the full time dad of his adored girls. He knew there was nothing to do, and being angry at his wife would only hurt the kids, so he resisted. It came out a bit in his graphic illustrations, but that was only catharsis.
This was a beautiful and amazing film, especially compared to what is usually produced.
