Feels Like The Spanish Remake of Weekend

If you think this feels like the Spanish remake of Weekend, the Andrew Haight film, that's because there are a bunch of its scenes that seem HEAVILY inspired-by or direct homages to (the much, much better) film,) Weekend. Where do i start?:

Bar scene, standing make-out scene, in-bed love scene, morning after coffee, riding bikes through city, spliff-infused chats in the living room, embarrassed kisses in public places (with subsequent catcalling!, lol), riding the bus.

There were more, but you get my drift. I'm not mad at it (as they say), the writer/director knew a gem when they saw it and probably wanted to recreate a bit of that magic. I didn't even "dislike" the movie.

But, with the flat script and weak acting (especially from the lead), and the lack of chemistry between the men, it all seemed a bit weaksauce and...pointless.

Just watch the original.

I also loved the film "Weekend" but I think that there is more at play here. It seems that there is also inspiration from Argentinian director Marco Berger (Plan B/Hawaii). There is a commonality of names in the two films but perhaps most telling is the use of a Viewmaster, a favorite device of Berger's.Unfortunately the ending is not a Berger-like ending but I still definitely liked this film. Totally disagree about the acting - all three principals are superb. Plus I thought the men had a ton of chemistry.
