The Purge

The thing about this movie is it has slowly become less of a scary movie but more of an action movie. Lets save the VIP with as many causalities as possible.
Im not some kind of sicko but I really want to see total anarchy, I don't care if people aren't driven to murder on the annual purge you'd have thought you'd see the odd group rocking police cars or looting-but the streets are completely dead with the occasional psycho in a mask "la la laaing" around a bonfire.
I want to see riots and a genuinely believable purge, the amount of kids out on the streets causing mayhem these days but hardly any hoodie clan teens are seen.
Its lost its scare factor and has become an action flick...... thats my point. I'll leave now.

Agreed. But that's how the series has been from the beginning. In the very first film, the moment the bad guys broke into Ethan Hawke's house, the last act of the film went from thriller/horror to straight up action film. Never particularly liked that.

You want to see anarchy in the streets with rape and murder but the purge wasn't about that. It originally was to purge the homeless. Maybe a prequel can set it up. There's a reason why Americans voted for the purge and why most people were just at home and weren't worrying about intruders or anything.
