Where will this franchise go from here?

The movie ended with the senator making it a mission to overturn the Purge, which caused violence to erupt from protesters. So is the 4th one going to revolve around the protests? Or are they going to act like her mission to overturn it was unsuccessful and carry on with another Purge?

The franchise is over, next time google the movie before posting non-senses.

take it easy there champ... the movie made 80 million. cost 10million. people will always want to make more money so I can def see them making another movie "Purge" related.

LOL forreal mrcapone thinks the franchise is done just because the internet says so. What a tard.

They could either set the next Purge movies somewhere along the timeline BEFORE Election Year, or they could make it so that people keep Purging even though it's no longer sanctioned and they can get in trouble. Or they could do it in another country that has implemented their own Purge day. Or someone could become president 4 years after Election Year and reinstate the Purge. Quite a few ways to keep it going!

How many horror franchises have you followed? Just look at Friday the 13th.

"Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter" was movie #4 out of 12.
"Jason Goes to Hell: The Final Friday" was movie #9 out of 12.

Horror franchises usually stick around if they are making money. A horror film that people are interested in can easily make back its budget + more. Election Year made almost 120M on a 10M budget and they certainly arent going to stop making more movies.

They said a possibility for the next one would follow the very first Purge, so it would be a prequel.

reply

I love the idea of a prequel. I hope they do that next. Really, the possibilities are endless.

Hollywood is a place where they'll pay you $50,000 for a kiss and 50 cents for your soul.

We know how the purge ends, let's see how it begins.

reply

The purge does end but the Purgers still have the urge to do it. The film ended with the news claiming riots were breaking out.

So they have a few different avenues to take.

The Purge: Rebellion

(The Purge has ended but thousands of pro-Purge Americans are not happy with the new President's anti-purge policy. A group of Purge Activist want to embrace the traditional Holiday by still performing it and hunting down all anti-purge citizens. The President enacts a military task force assigned with a shoot to kill order on anyone performing in the now ended Purge. )

The Purge: First Ammendment

(The NFFA have approved the bill for the annual Purge. United States citizens are preparing fo the first annual purge in United States history.)
