Eeeeeeeewwwwwwww! What happened?

Yikes! Anyone else think the first ep of the new season sucked? It was like a bad imitation of itself. Like soda pop gone flat.

I was so looking forward to this season. I've been waiting for months for the next ep and at last, tonight, here it is, and I'm thinking "What the he11 is this???" I'm so let down. It wasn't particularly funny, the one musical number with the cactus in it was terrible...or at least blah, and it seemed unfocused. It seems like it doesn't have a clear sense of where it's going, like the writers threw 10 paintballs at the wall, hoping one or two might stick. What's the problem? Is it all new writers? Or is it simply the old curse of television shows that once they get two characters together who have been kept apart, the whole thing falls apart? Is there just nowhere to go now?

I'd like to hear other opinions: anyone else disappointed, or did some of you like it?
