OMG I have to go to West Covina!

Wish me luck!

reply

Good luck!

I love this show. It's so quirky and honest in many ways, and funny. Just discovered it on Netflix within the past week and spent 3-4 days binging it.

No idea where you're from, or if it matters to you, but I've never been to West Covina, only heard the name. I love that this show is set in a small town in southern California that many people have never heard of before, let alone been to!

May you find your Josh, wherever he may live ;)

reply

Wow, I didn't even think of that! I could find Josh but he's going to be a priest now.. hmmm... I could tempt him and that would be the test of his faith. West Covina is not the Judaean Desert but it is a desert I think. Close enough.

reply

Ha! I should have specified, your pre-priesthood Josh ;)

reply

Haha! I wonder if he's actually going to go through with it. Priests have to do a lot of studying and that doesn't seem like his forte, lol. I thought he would end up with Sara. Maybe he still will. She goes to his church and he seems to have more in common with her than Becks, V, or the eyebrow lady..

I was born in Los Angeles and everything east of the San Gabriel Valley is like one monolithic strip mall to me. But I love that show!

reply

West Covina was fun! I didn't find Josh but I got to eat Mango con chile from a pinata and everyone was really cool and chill.

reply

Mango con chile in a pinata?! *imagination works overtime on that, and imagines a particularly unappealing mess* I hope there were plenty of hot showers and towels at the ready.

Did you find Josh?

reply

haha! Mango con chile was a hard candy in a wrapper the size of my pinky thumb nail, so luckily no mess. Although, there were restrooms available that I fortunately didn't need. It took me 12,000 days to get there and a trillion thousand days to get home. I was thinking that I should have just walked all the way there and it would have been faster. But it was truly, a lovely time.

PS - no I didn't find Josh. My friend's grandfather was kind of cute though.

reply

Oh, that's very, very different from what I imagined :D

That's a darned long trip, if you ask me. Especially the one back home. You may have set a record.

No Josh, oh well. At least there was the cute grandfather. And mango con chiles.

reply

And hibiscus tea!

What's the deal with this show----I liked watching it the first season, then I let it slip away, and now I'm just wondering what's season it's up to and when it's coming back on, because I actually haven't seen it in a long while. Or any commercials for it,either.

According to Wikipedia, S3 is to air in October '17. T-t-t-t-hat's all I know.

reply

It's absolutely hilarious that this show put West Covina on the map for any reason. There is literally no reason to go there haha.

reply

Literally? haha

Troy Aikman and Jason Giambi are from West Covina.

Vince Neil and Tommy Lee are from Covina, IIRC
