Season 4 is happening?

All signs point to another season or a movie. Extremely excited.

I do not think so. I think Part 18 ended it for good. And maybe Lynch's entire career is done as well.

Inland Empire had a similar ending. The Lost Girl was reunited with her husband and her son - just like Dougie was with his wife and kid. Tie this up with the fact that Eraserhead began with a man abandoning his wife and kid.

I would be open to more Lynch/TP, but Part 18 made it feel over with. Consider the three esoteric pillars and consider the Greek/Catholic concept of the afterlife. Hell, heaven and purgatory. The doppelganger ended up in hell, Dougie got to heaven ("no place to go but home" - FWWM: The Missing Pieces) and Cooper got to purgatory. Cooper worshipped Laura and the mysticism of the Lodge too much. That's the reason that Diane is dressed up as the Lodge (red wig, black and white nails) and that the sex was so awkward in Part 18.

I get what you’re saying, but he’s got to bring it home. Season 3 was too “ in the real world.” He’s gotta bring it back to the simpleness of the small town we all fell in love with.

Lynch can't provide us with those small town motifs in season 1 and season 2. The best Cooper dialogue is not even written by Lynch. In fact, only four episodes of the original show are written by Lynch. No one wants to acknowledge this.

I like both the original show and season 3, for different reasons. Season 3 isn't and can't be the original show. Nor can season 4 or any other TV show be like the original show. Lynch was also a small ingredient amongst many other ingredients of the original show. Nothing can recapture the 1990's. The 90's are gone, dude.

I mean in some ways, we didn't even need season 3 nor do we need a season 4 - that's what made it a nice surprise. You could see FWWM as the real ending. If Laura can transcend her pain and death, so can the town, so can we. Transcend.

Go back and read some of the posts in here. I’ve acknowledged it the whole time. I’ve always known Frost was the natural story teller.
I get it brah, no more 90s and I’m very ok with that. I’m just saying, I’m been a fan my entire life and i need twin peaks closure. In order to get it, I’m gonna need them to bring it back home. Even if it’s just for a movie.
I loved FWWM. Saw it in the theater.

There is also Harley Peyton and Robert Engels. And a few one time episode writers.

I do miss the 90s. I miss the way that professional cameras would capture footage and the energy/bubbleyness of actors in that time. We live in this silly age of TikTok and Trump...it does feel dystopian. 2010 is more like two decades ago than one, it feels.

reply

Yeah. Shits changing quickly and not for the better I fear. Definitely dystopian, good word.

Lynch has no interest in another season. I hope someone else does a season 4. We need one before the actors get too old.
