Can I get those 18 hours back, please?

So many moments I thought this thing was going to be brilliant. It never sustained it (aside from the weird atomic bomb episode) and the final episode was a massive letdown.

reply

You have summarized the experience perfectly.

reply

its more about the journey than the destination i guess. the ending was designed for a 4th season but it never happened.

reply

I think this entire season was Lynch trolling us. We had what, 5 whole minutes of Cooper being himself out of 18 hours? If that's not a middle finger Twin Peaks fans...

reply

I've heard this theory elsewhere. If it's true, I forgive Lynch, I just wish I had been warned ahead of time so I could have sat out on the joke.

reply

Lynch does nothing but troll "us" and it's glorious!

reply

I like the gag, I just can't afford the time it takes to realize it's a gag!

reply

I was going to buy it and binge. No?

reply

I would say no. There are some moments that are amazing beyond amazing. Most of it, however, is a snoozer. If you watch the famous episode, the one with the nuclear explosions and such, you'll get enough of a Lynch fix to last until he does something worth watching again.

reply

These amazing moments you speak of are what it's all about for me with Lynch. I'll get it if I can find it cheap.

reply

I understand. Just be prepared ahead of time for a letdown the last two episodes.

reply

I loved how it ended. I guess everyone is different.

reply

If you were a fan of the original series because of the characters, you will hate this with a passion, like me.

If you are a fan of David Lynch's weirdness, and get a kick out of being trolled, you'll love it.

I was waiting for Don Pardo's voice in the opening credits. "And musical quest ... some weird band".

reply

There were some extraordinary parts of the show, but there were more parts that were really not very good or just too long. Overall the show was good when I was watching it, but unfortunately, in retrospect, I find most of the show unsatisfying.

reply

I probably could've tolerated it more if Kyle MacLachlan would've been Cooper a lot sooner, say maybe 2nd/3rd episode. However, they just kept dragging it out, knowing full well that the "Twin Peaks" fans wanted to see him back to normal.

reply

While Lynch got a kick out of making us wish Cooper would come back to his senses.

reply

Yeah, way too much spastic Coop. I would've liked more of the original characters like James and Audrey, too. Seemed they were just basically doing cameos filmed in a day.

reply

That's unfortunate.

reply

It was a huge disappointment for me.

reply

I binged it for the first time since it aired. I appreciate it more now than in 2017. Although I can see why people would be disappointed. You have to be a DL fan to appreciate it. He doesn't give a shit about your nostalgia.

reply

It had its moments..it was just great seeing so many people back....the whole dougie thing was so so bad....

reply

And do what with those 18 hours? Oh i know, sleep for 2 nights.
