Wasn't the ending suppose to be "bitter-sweet"..

I prefer the dreamlike state of s1 and s2. There were many things about this season that made me uncomfortable and even pissed off at some points. I always think it is a good thing if a show or movie makes you feel anything, as most are bland stories already told.
I had to ask myself what was bugging me about s3. It came down to me not liking being ripped from the sweet dreams of the first 2 seasons. S3 brought tps to the real world and i didn't like it. It was darker, grittier, and a little too real. Did lynch do this on purpose or is he just a crazy madman trying to make a comeback?
I have no clue what that man lynch intended for us, but i have a feeling that in this day and age, where answers are readily waiting at our fingertips, maybe he just wanted people to think for themselves.

Lynch never gives us answers, he wants us to figure things out on our own. Also, many reunion or revamped shows never seem to work when they just continue down a similar path. It is like "been there, done that" television. They tried something different and so far most of the critical reviews are glowing, while the fans are mixed about it. I think that if the show was just like the original and tied up the finale in a nice tight bow, there would have been just as many or more fans pissed off. You just can't win when you bring something back is the moral of the story.

I fully understand why some fans may be pissed or feel cheated. I mean, we've spent 25 yrs. wrapping our heads around the "rules" of the first 2 seasons. What i've always loved about this show is the endless possibilities. It is more my nature to be comfortable with the spiritual aspects of the lodges. This new tulpa/time warp thing is radical, but the answers don't come easy and i like that.
I also think it's pretty funny that people were so stoked about lynch having more involvement this season, and then got upset when they got full blown lynch.

I think that all the time. Lynch opted out, people got pissed; Lynch came back, People were happy; Lynch did what he wanted; People were pissed. lol
