All of these reviews and others I've read all have been pretty positive. I think that some of the haters will eventually come over to the positive side of the aisle. Remember how FWWM was panned by both critics and fans, but now most think it is brilliant cinema. I think Twin Peaks The Return surpassed both the original two seasons and FWWM.

People are looking for excuses to be positive. I thought FWWM was great. The S3 finale (which apparently undid the climax of FWWM) was disappointing for reasons I put thought into and laid out here.

Time can sometimes shift perspective, but my observations and arguments won't change simply because time passes.

I have been looking but haven't found one bad review by the media so far, which is a good sign for a sequel.

The ending was never going to please everyone but I think it has pleased enough people (especially Showtime whose subscriptions apparently went up 11% because of the show) that I am more hopeful that we haven't seen the last of TP yet.

reply

Even most of those disappointed by the finale, as I and probably most fans are, want a continuation.

reply

Even a truncated season would be welcome. Not looking for 18 episodes again. That just won't happen.

reply

If they made enough money and think it's worth financing and Lynch and the cast agree - it might even go to more than 18 - one can only hope anyway!

reply

Maybe they can split it up. Do six for next year, then another six and another six. It was too long to wait for 18, but six episodes could be done quickly and if the response is good, they can do more in intervals of six.

reply

Better that they film them all as soon as possible then as some of the cast members may not be around in a few years time.

reply

"six episodes could be done quickly"

ahahahahahahaha!

Hey, David, just do six quick episodes for us. No, seriously, it will be really quick. Just limit it to, like, 10 characters. Episode one is the introduction of course, then introduce more intrigue and episode 3 will be the midpoint. From there, just start to wrap it up in 4, get the climax in 5, and 6 is the denouement. No worries.

I get it. I can dream, can't I?
