A bit underwhelmed

I'm not sure they really knew who they were making this for... I think younger children might have enjoyed it most. But, the time-slot was a bit late for them. So, I presume it was intended for a more general audience... You certainly can't complain about the cast. (Though, the professor character needed a little more warmth than Harry Hill was apparently able to bring to him...) And, apart from a brief glimpse of some very modern strip lighting, the period detail was excellent. But, the plot and comedy weren't really complex enough for grown-ups and, while I found it watchable enough, I was left feeling distinctly underwhelmed.

I have to agree with most of your post.

What miffed me most was the lack of logics,
or rather cause/effect when it came to the mishaps with the inventions.

Don't kids mind things not making sense?
Probably not as long as their questions aren't answered,
(their minds are kind of fleeting, searching for new knowledge/excitement).

The thing is, why not ANSWER those questions?
I'm guessing, sorry, -KNOW kids could grasp logics better than most grownups anyday.

Shameful Xmas display from the Beeb, this 'ere...

The scheduling sucked and the controller for BBC1 should be taken to task for slotting it at 8:00 pm after Eastenders. Its clear this was aimed at children. No wonder Skyfall scored big rating on ITV.

Its that man again!!

I just saw Professor Branestawm and it was OK.
I give it a 5 out of 10.
Just a light family entertainment show.
Next got The Boy In Dress to watch.
