The writer/director (Delpy) is being a little generous to the actress (b. 1969), no?

Director& actress are the same person

I've seen the film and the character is actually 45. Don't know why it says 40 in the synopsis.

You're correct, the preview said something about 45 years. So, maybe the publicist was being generous, rather than the writer. To Ms. Delpy, my apologies - tu es belle.
