Post credit scene explains what we saw... and it was:

God, aka Brosnan, initiates the end of the world on the island. And in this process he wants to hire Jason to be by his side.... whom does not accept his offer. And the end of the world continues.

Well wasn't what was under the "Megiddo" tarp on the ferry just a huge shipment of "Urge"? I think since Jason wasn't effected by the urge really was just because he has risen above it and is basically pulling a fight club dual personality scenario. Because no one else see's the other people that he see's and he was on the island before all of his friends.

yes this is one interpretation, but it goes against the post credit scene. This is for our eyes only and it tells us the world is infected with zombies or similar. Sure we could see this as a hint that urge just took over and for some reason made users into zombies, but nothing in the movie pointed to this, I think. Except Brosnan's speach.

People didn't turn into Zombies. They just complete let go of their inhibitions, just like everyone else did on the island. Those people are stuffing their faces with grabage food because they no longer gave a *beep* about their weight or health. they gave into their urges. The reason why they were looking at the kid was probably because they also gave into their primal urge to kill, either that or they were just give him a nasty look and continued on with their gluttony. I don't understand why everyone keeps calling the people at the end Zombies, no one is eating a human.

Cause your description above pretty much describes the essence of what a zombie is. And those we saw in the end were more a kin to deadites than the fat folks in Wall-E. But hey, you got a good point. Your view is more on track with the with the movie. Cause if I am right, why would Zombies be anything nearer to what Brosnan says? Truth is that the final scene is a far cry from what we had seen previously in the story and so demands a creative spin to work.

Both explanations work, imo. But the post credit scene does tell us that it is not all in his head and that Urge is a real thing and threat - weather if designed by God or by him is ultimately less important. It does bring chaos and destruction and dare I say the end of the world.
