How on earth did they manage to get to England after committing these murders? And why would England be considered a better place to be? The ending had a kind of happily-ever-after feel to it. Am I wrong?

shareIs it possible the ending scene is a dream? A wish for the future? England was better just because there was family there to help ground them and support them. It was her desire from the very beginning.

Thanks for the insight from Audiard. I think if he didn't want that kind of feeling though he shouldn't have ended the film with that family scene; he should have maybe added a scene after that suggesting a start again from zero.
shareIt's a fictional place, not earth.
