I would venture to say that there are very few people who haen't taken a sheet of paper and with a few simple folds were able to sail there creation across the room. Question: Have people been doing this long before the Wright Bros??
Every third person who complains will be shot. Two people have complained already!
Paper airplanes and gliders of all sizes flew in straight lines and used gravity for propulsion.
The key contributions of the Wright brothers was the ability to control the airplane especially making turns. The wing inside the turn looses lift because it is going slower than the outer wing and will dip unless both wings are reconfigured to maintain the balance in lift between the the inner and outer wing to maintain the trim of the aircraft. That is what wing warping accomplished. Wing warping was later replaced by ailerons (AKA flaps) but the principle was the same, so, the Wright brothers patents were upheld. With regard to propulsion, the efficiency of their propeller design was quite extraordinary and consistant with that of modern propeller designs. This was important to their success because it helped compensate for the low power of their primitive engine.
